Spiritual Communion

We nourish our souls most perfectly when we worthily receive the Holy Eucharist at Mass. For those times when you are unable to make a Sacramental Communion, you can make a spiritual communion, manifesting your belief in Christ's Real Presence in the Eucharist and inviting Jesus to come into your heart.                               Novena to the Holy Spirit

The novena in honor of the Holy Spirit is the oldest of all novenas since it was first made at the direction of Our Lord Himself when He sent His Apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost. Addressed to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, it is a powerful plea for the light and strength and love so much needed by every Christian. Traditionally prayed in anticipation of Pentecost, beginning Friday of the 6th Week of Easter, this novena can be prayed at any time. This link to EWTN provides both the prayers to access daily or a printable complete novena.
