Stewardship: a grateful response to God’s love.
Everything that we have and all that we are is a gift from our loving Father. Our life, our parents, our neighbors, our talents, gifts, and skills, everything has been given to us as a gift. We often serve where there’s a need rather than where we are gifted. Discovering our talents, gifts, and skills help us to identify how God is calling each of us to a unique purpose. How do we recognize our unique gifts? A good place to begin is prayer. How about asking the Holy Spirit to guide you in discovering your unique giftedness? Then when you are ready, participate in this Gifted to Serve ministry match discovery tool.
Our gifts are to be shared with others in order to build His Kingdom. When we serve together as a community we build relationships with each other and ultimately with our Lord. Every baptized person is called to the mission of making Jesus Christ known and loved. Discovery is not discernment. This tool will give you an introductory evaluation of your talents, gifts, skills, and possible ministries to share your gifts in love of God and neighbor.
Talents, gifts, and skills differ from a charism. A charism is a spiritual gift given by the Holy Spirit at Baptism and Confirmation. Talents instruct, inspire, or entertain on a natural level. However, when a charism is exercised something supernatural happens in and through the one who is ministering.
Keep in mind that discerning our charisms is a lifelong process. If you would like to further discern your potential charisms after taking this discovery, consider attending a Called & Gifted Workshop. https://catholicdioceseofwichita.org/stewardship/called-and-gifted/
